2007 — Week 39
We experienced great fishing for Lake Trout during our last week of the season. John Acker caught a Lake Trout of 101cm and therefore became a new member of our Trophy Club. Congratulations John and well done! More big fish up to 98cm were caught too, just missing the trophy mark by a tiny bit. We also had very good action fishing for Lake Trout in the rivers. It won’t be long until they will move out into the Lakes for the winter. Fishing for Grayling and Rainbow Trout was excellent with a fair number of good sized fish. Pike fishing was spotty, one day they were biting like crazy and on other days fishing was rather slow. We did really well in our nearby river in Alaska for the Sockeye Salmon. As it is a very late run our guests were still catching very fresh and silver Sockeyes. Not that many Cohos were caught, it seems that they are late too. Our fly out trips to the coast of Alaska for the Silver Salmon were not as successful as they used to be in the past. There were not that many fish around and we had to work hard to catch our limit. The weather was rather poor: Mostly cloudy skies and cold temperatures.Trix, Hardy, Thomas
