2005 — Week 39
We had pretty much the same weather as the previous weeks:
a few days sunny and calm, one day with a little rain and the other days
were windy and cloudier. Temperatures were slowly decreasing and one night
it was really frosty as the temperature went down to -8° C.
Just before our last guests left we were able to do two fly-out trips to our Silver Salmon river in Alaska. The weather was great and the fishing could not have been better. Some of the guests caught up to 50 Silvers in one day and they had sore arms from playing that many fish. A lot of Salmon went for the dry fly, what a spectacular way to catch Silvers, when the fish is following and attacking several times and finally grabbing the fly just a few feet away from you! Fishing the rivers for Laketrout, Grayling and Rainbow Trout was still very productive as well as fishing for Pike. Our last guests left the Lodge on Saturday, another successful season is coming to an end.
We had a very busy season, the lodge was fully booked most of the time. From spring to fall the fishing was excellent and a lot of our customers were able to catch their biggest fish so far. The weather was not that great this year: We had a lot of windy days and quite a bit of rain, which is unusual for our area as we rather have a dry climate. We would like to thank all our customers for staying with us this year - we had a great time with you! We would also like to express our thanks to all our staff for their efforts throughout this long and busy season. We wish everybody a good winter, take care, and we hopefully will see you next year.
