2006 — Week 26
Six Trophy Laketrout in a single afternoon! This unforgettable and unique experience happened to Donald Gervin and his guide while fishing a remote Lake. They found a large school of big Laketrout at one spot and the action was non-stop. One Trophy took the lure just behind the boat right in front of their eyes – what a thrill to watch. Our guest Gerhard Krassing hooked his first fish ever in the Yukon and this Pike measured no less than 107cm! We are very pleased to welcome him and Donald to our exclusive Trohpy Club – what a great start of the week. Fishing for all species was overall excellent and our guests caught many fish with flies or lures. We have reports that the first Sockeyes have entered our nearby river in Alaska. Not in big numbers yet but we are confident that we can send down the first guests early next week. With warmer water temperatures there were a lot of insect hatches to watch. On one particular lake the surface was covered with mayflies and the Grayling were jumping everywhere – the water was just boiling. The first half of the week we experienced a lot of rain and much cooler temperatures. One morning we even had snow flurries at the Lodge! Towards the end of the week we had great weather with hardly any wind at all – we loved it!Statistics
