2006 — Week 33
This week was the time for the big Grayling with no less than two Trophies to report. Heinz Eggenberger and John Francis are the happy fishermen who are from now on new proud members of our Grayling Trophy Club. Congratulations to them and well done! It is needless to say that the fishing for Grayling was just excellent. Most of them were caught on flies but small spinners worked well too. We fished our nearby river in Alaska for Sockeyes on a regular basis and many of our guests limited out. We missed only one day during the whole week when the river was not fishable due to high water levels. A fly out trip for Salmon to the coast of Alaska was less successful. We had three days of pouring rain and therefore found very high and quite dirty water. Nevertheless we hooked three Silver Salmon, caught many Pinks and one Sockeye. One day we went out on the Ocean and caught two Kings but no Silvers. Pike fishing was patchy but our guests still managed to catch a good number of fish. We had steady action fishing for Rainbow Trout with fish up to 50cm. They are such great fighters and really a lot of fun to catch. One day we went out to explore a new river we have never fished before. We floated down the whole river and caught quite a few Grayling. A very nice river and definitely something for the adventure seeking angler. We had mainly cloudy and windy conditions but the fishing was overall very good.Statistics
