2006 — Week 35
We had great fishing and decent weather this week. Our guests experienced fantastic Grayling fishing with fish up to 45cm. The Grayling are very active right now as they know that winter is not that far away and their feeding time will soon be over. We could see some good hatches of mayflies and sedges and it is needles to say that we had steady action on dry flies. Fishing for Rainbow trout was excellent too and quite a few fish around 50cm were caught. One guest hooked a really big Rainbow and this fish jumped several times at least two feet out of the water! Unfortunately he lost it but the experience with this hard fighting fish will for sure stay in his memories. More and more Laketrout are moving into our rivers and we had very good luck fishing for them. Both flies and smaller lures worked well. Our nearby Salmon River in Alaska was not in good shape as we first had high water levels and then due to strong winds, muddy water conditions. We had only one successful trip for the Sockeye Salmon. On the last day of the week we organized the first fly out trip to Alaska for the Silver Salmon and we can’t wait to get reports of the first Silvers being caught. The week started with sunny and calm weather. During the middle of the week we had some rain and on the last days the wind started to pick up with mainly cloudy skies.Statistics
