2006 — Week 38
We experienced great fishing for Laketrout this week and are pleased to welcome two new members to our exclusive Trophy Club. Manfred Kuerschner and Hansruedi Schawalder both caught a Laketrout over 100cm on the same day while fishing a remote Lake. We never had good luck in the past for the large Lakers at this time of the season, but this week we found a new “hot spot” where we had fantastic fishing. Not only the two Trophies were caught there, we had several large Fish in the range of 90 to 95cm and a lot of “smaller” Laketrout around 70cm. We also caught many Laketrout in our local rivers on flies and spoons. Pike fishing was spotty, the Lakes where we usually do very well were not productive but we had good results on one specific Lake. Fishing for Grayling was excellent with many large Fish up to 48cm. Our Rivers are now teaming with four different species of Fish: Laketrout, Grayling, Rainbow Trout and Whitefish. The Whitefish offer a real challenge to the Fly Fishermen as you have to fish with very small nymphs and a delicate presentation is a must. We were able to do one fly out trip for the Silver Salmon at the coast of Alaska and our guests had great action on their fly rods. Everybody had no problem to catch their limit of four fish per day. Our nearby Sockeye Salmon River in Alaska was in prime shape too and all our guests limited out. The week started with cloudy skies and mainly windy conditions. Towards the weekend we had sunny days but very strong winds with gusts up to 100km per hour.Statistics
