2007 — Week 24
Great fishing continued at Dalton Trail Lodge. As forecasted in the last news report we landed our first trophy Laketrout of the season. Michael Barton caught a beautiful Namaycush of 100cm. Congratulations to Michael and welcome to our Trophy Club! We had incredible action while fishing for Pike. They were very aggressive and many up to 98cm were caught. It is so much fun to fish surface lures or flies as the Pike sometimes shoot straight out of the water to catch the bait. Laketrout fishing was also excellent on all of our lakes. Beside the trophy many big fish up to 95cm were caught. Some of our rivers rose significantly during this week but they fortunately always remain clear. These high waters didn’t affect the fishing for Rainbow Trout and Grayling at all. Quite a few very nice Rainbows were caught either on light spinning tackle or fly. Some of the pools were full of Grayling and our guests enjoyed catching them on dry flies. The first two days of the week were slightly windy but the wind became light during the rest of the week. We had a few rain showers and the occasional thunder storm. The rain was highly appreciated as it didn’t rain for a long time and the land was very dry. Another great week with a lot of nice catches.Statistics
