2007 — Week 28
Fishing continued to be excellent during this week. Jürgen Hammerer almost had a “trophy-hatrick” as he caught a Laketrout of exact 100cm plus a Grayling of 49cm. It is pretty rare that the same guest catches 2 trophy fish of 2 different species during one week! So congratulations Jürgen and welcome to our Trophy Club. Rotislav Gaspar also caught a Laketrout of 100cm and became a proud member to our Trophy Club. Many more big Laketrout up to 99cm were caught too. Unfortunately they missed the trophy mark by just a tiny little bit, but who really cares as there is nothing wrong with catching such a beautiful big fish. The first King Salmon have entered our local rivers and fishing was very good. We believe that we will have a good run of Kings this year and will see some good action. Unfortunately the Sockeye Salmon in our nearby rivers in Alaska are not running strong. So far only a few fish have moved in and we have decided not to plan any trips until the situation changes. We are hoping that this will be happening soon. Pike fishing was a little bit patchy as one lake produced many fish up to 96cm and on other lakes the fishing was rather slow. The Grayling and Rainbow Trout were very active and many were caught on light tackle. The first two days of the week were sunny but windy. The next day we had some rain showers and the wind calmed down. Towards the weekend it was a mix of sun and clouds and finally on Sunday we had beautiful weather with warm temperatures.Statistics
