2007 — Week 32
We are very pleased to welcome a new member to our exclusive Trophy Club: Marco Ronchetti. He caught a nice big Grayling of 49cm on a fly. Besides the trophy Grayling he caught many more big ones close to the trophy mark. Congratulations Marco and well done! It is needless to say that the fishing for Grayling was world class everywhere we went. Our guests also experienced great fishing for Pike up to 94cm. Most of them were caught on lures but flies worked as well. The Laketrout are still around in good numbers and our guests caught lots of them up to 93cm. Most of our guests are surprised about the fight these fish give. They are for sure a lot of fun to catch on a fly rod! We also had very good fishing for Rainbow Trout with some nice fish up to 55cm. Unfortunately there is no better news about the Sockeye Salmon. Only a few fish are moving in and not enough to have good fishing. So we are still waiting and hoping that this will change in the next couple of days. Besides the good fishing we found a lot of Boletus, one of the finest wild mushrooms to eat. We experienced a lot of rain during this week and the water levels are high everywhere. It doesn’t affect our fishery at all but some areas in the Yukon are getting prepared for minor flooding. At least the wind was on the calm side, we just had some North winds which are welcome on most of our lakes. All in all a great fishing and culinary week.Statistics
