2007 — Week 35
Great fishing continued during this week. Eight year old Tom Vanneste caught a trophy Pike of 100cm all by himself. The fish was almost bigger than him and we have never seen a prouder member of our Trophy Club. Rudi Moegele caught a beautiful Grayling of 49cm and we are pleased to welcome him to our Trophy Club as well. Congratulations to both of you and well done! Pike fishing was kind of slow on some lakes, on other lakes we did really well. Grayling fishing was awesome everywhere we went. Beside Rudi’s trophy there were many close to 48cm caught. Fishing for Lake Trout in the Lakes was still productive with fish up to 97cm. River fishing was excellent and our guests enjoyed catching lots of smaller Lake Trout up to 60cm on light tackle. We also had good fishing for Rainbow Trout and Whitefish in our rivers. Our nearby Salmon River in Alaska is in very good shape, it is running clear and the most important, full of Sockeye Salmon. It is needless to say that all our trips were successful. We have reports that the first Silver Salmon have entered our river at the coast of Alaska and therefore planned the first fly out trip early next week. The season for the small game hunting has started on September 1st and we had a great day hunting for Ptarmigan and Grouse on that opening day. Besides one rainy day with cooler temperatures we had great weather and very calm conditions. The leaves are starting to turn colours and we are looking forward to a nice Indian summer.Statistics
