2007 — Week 38
We are proud to announce another member to our exclusive Trophy Club: Andre Suter caught a big Lake Trout of 102cm. Andre caught two trophies already during his last year’s visit so this is his third trophy here at Dalton Trail Lodge! Congratulations, well done and welcome to our Trophy Club! Besides the trophy we had many other big Lake Trout up to 98cm. Fishing for Lake Trout in our rivers was world class and our guests enjoyed catching them on lighter tackle. Most of these fish are between 50 to 60cm but occasionally bigger ones up to 85cm are caught. We also experienced excellent fishing for Grayling and Rainbow Trout in our rivers. Quite a few nice Grayling up to 47cm were caught. Pike fishing was very good on one lake, on other lakes we didn’t do all too good. More and more Cohos are showing up in our nearby river in Alaska and our guests have a very good chance to catch them, as well as the Sockeye Salmon. Almost all our guests were able to catch their limit. We managed to do a couple of successful fly out trips to the coast of Alaska for the Silver Salmon. Although all our guests limited out, the fishing wasn’t as outstanding as in previous years. It seems that we are experiencing a slightly smaller run of Cohos this fall. The weather wasn’t all too god, we only had one nice Indian Summer day. One day we even had flurries! Despite the tougher weather conditions our guests had a great time catching lots of fish.Statistics
