2008— Week 26
More trophies were caught during this week! Blair Hendriks caught a trophy Pike of exactly 100 cm and Linc Lougheed a trophy Lake Trout of 104 cm. Congratulations to both of them and welcome to our Trophy Club. Lake Trout fishing was excellent and our guests caught many more big fish up to 97 cm. Quite a few were caught on flies but the majority of them were hooked while trolling. Fishing for Pike was spotty again, some Lakes were awesome with a lot of big fish, in some of the other Lakes the action was slower. It was also a great week for Grayling fishing with many fish up to 46 cm caught. Dry flies worked best, but a lot were caught on small spinners too. Water levels on some Rivers became rather high but this is not really a problem as they all run clear. Fishing for Rainbow Trout was generally good with a few nice fish up to 40 cm. Our guests also enjoyed catching Whitefish on small nymphs; quite a challenge as these fish are not as easy to catch. We have good news from our nearby river in Alaska, the first Sockeye Salmon are showing up. We will probably be able to send the first guests down there early next week. The weather was rather poor this week, we had two days with rain and only one sunny day. The wind challenged us, but we have such a large variety of locations that we always find places to fish.Statistics
