2008— Week 33
Our guests enjoyed a great week fishing and we are very glad to welcome 3 new members to our Trophy Club. Ingolf Winter caught a Pike of 105 cm, Jim Ray a Grayling of 48 cm and Tomas Vyskocil a Grayling of 49 cm. Congratulations to all of them and well done! We did many fly out trips by floatplane to some very remote Lakes. The fishing there was out of this world and our guests had sore arms from catching so many fish. What a great experience to fly over unspoilt wilderness and fish waters that virtually nobody else has fished before! Fishing was also excellent in our “regular” Lakes and Rivers. Especially the Grayling fishing was great in all the Rivers with a lot of dry fly action. Many nice Grayling close to the trophy mark were caught. Pike fishing was good too, unfortunately quite a few trophies were lost right at the boat. Fishing for Lake Trout was good and will get even better from now on as a lot of them will move into the Rivers for spawning. We could fish for Sockeye Salmon in our nearby River in Alaska only at the beginning of the week as heavy rain at the coast made the river unfishable. The trips we could do were very successful though. The week started with unsettled weather with mainly cloudy skies and the occasional rain shower. From the middle towards the end of this week the weather improved significantly and we enjoyed the sunshine and the mainly calm conditions.
