2008— Week 36
We had a great fishing week with no less than 6 trophies. We are very pleased to welcome the following fishermen to our Trophy Club: Jiri Belohlav (Grayling 49 cm), Maximilian Kurfuerst (Grayling 49 cm), Petr Vrbka (Pike 105 cm), Maximilian Kurfuerst (Pike 101 cm), Friedrich Kurfuerst (Pike 104 cm), Peter Raetzke (Pike 105 cm). Congratulations to all of them and well done! We found a new spot for the Pike which was loaded with big fish. We have so many different lakes and rivers, even after over 20 years in business we can still find new locations to fish. The Grayling fishing was awesome like the previous weeks with many big ones close to the trophy mark. Fishing for Lake Trout was very good too, the rivers are now in prime shape and full of fish. The weather permitted us to do a couple of fly out trips to the coast of Alaska for the Silver Salmon. Fishing was good but there were not tons of fish around, it is only the beginning of the main run. Nevertheless everybody caught beautiful fresh Cohos right from the Ocean. There were mainly males caught, usually an indication that there will be a good run because the males come in first. Our nearby river in Alaska for the Sockeye was getting back to normal water levels and we did a few successful trips. The weather was actually very nice, we had mainly sunny days and calm conditions. Only during two days of the week we experienced strong winds with cloudy skies. All in all a great week!
