2008— Week 37
We are very pleased to announce another member to our Trophy Club. Jan Wanner caught a beautiful Grayling of 49 cm. Congratulations and well done Jan! Overall Grayling fishing was really excellent everywhere we went. Our guests enjoyed catching lots of Rainbow Trout up to 50 cm in our rivers. They are such hard fighters and so much fun to catch on light tackle. Many Whitefish have moved now into the rivers to spawn, joined by Lake Trout, Grayling and Rainbow Trout. So the rivers are now in top shape with plenty of fish to catch. We did a couple of Bird hunting trips with good success. Besides the fishing, hunting for Grouse and Ptarmigan is also a great experience for our guests. There is nothing better than to cook this delicacy over a camp fire in the wilderness. Fishing for Sockeye Salmon in our nearby river in Alaska was successful and our fishermen brought back beautiful fresh and silver Sockeyes. For sure one of the best tasting Salmon, especially when you eat it raw like Sashimi. Because of bad weather we could do only one fly-out trip to the coast of Alaska for the Silver Salmon. There is a good number of Silvers around and we have a good feeling that there will be a strong run. The weather was giving us a hard time – we had very windy days and mainly cloudy skies. But our guests caught a lot of fish and were having a great time.
