2010— Week 29
Our guests experienced another great fishing week. The Pike fishing was world class with a total of 17 Trophies being caught! Congratulations to the following fishermen and welcome to our Pike Trophy Club: Robert Bunicz (110 cm), Peter Pacholik (106 cm, 105 cm), Tomasz Mossoczy (107 cm, 106 cm), Marcin Komadowski (110 cm), Ralph Hayes (2 x 115 cm, 109 cm, 2 x 106 cm), Bob Norgard (108 cm, 112 cm, 106 cm, 113 cm, 109 cm), Chuck Oliver (111 cm). Fishing for King Salmon was great too. Angelo Menet (12 years old) caught the biggest King of the week with an estimated weight of 35 lbs. He had sore arms after playing this big fish in the strong currents. We had excellent fishing for Inconnu and compared to last week we landed a lot more of these very rare fish. But we still lost about fifty percent of the fish during battle. They definitely know how to jump and shake their heads to get rid of the hooks! The biggest fish weighted about 25 lbs, which is a beautiful “Tarpon of the North”. We didn’t do that much fishing for Lake Trout because most of our clients preferred to catch big Pike. But fishing was excellent and many up to 85 cm were caught. Grayling fishing was very good and will even improve as the rivers are still dropping. The rivers are all clear though, but it is easier to target the fish with lower water levels. Our guests enjoyed catching many nice Rainbow Trout up to 50 cm. The average size of the Rainbows is quite larger than in the past years, which is a very nice thing to see. The weather was pretty good, mostly sunny days with a few clouds. The only downside was the windy conditions which made fishing more difficult. But as you can see with all the big fish being caught that wasn’t really a problem.
