2011— Week 26

Our guests experienced another fantastic fishing week with a total of 8 Pike Trophies and 2 Lake Trout Trophies being caught. Martin Hastings caught a huge Lake Trout of 109 cm and Dana Clock another big Lake Trout of 103 cm. The following fishermen all caught a Trophy Pike: Peter Schubert (106 cm), Peter Hastings (110 cm), Martin Hastings (110 cm), Dana Clock (107 cm), Karel jun.Vacha (123 cm), Karel sen.Vacha (114 cm), Jiri Kadlec (110 cm), Jan Kalina (107 cm). Congratulations to all of you and welcome to our Trophy Club! Quite a few Pike Trophies were caught on a fly and 15 year old Karel landed the biggest of all the Pike (123 cm) – this is quite an achievement! Great Pike and Lake Trout fishing everywhere, it can’t get much better than this. Fishing for Grayling is still improving and many nice ones up to 46 cm were caught. We sometimes had problems to catch a fish below the slot limit of 40 cm for shore lunch – a nice problem to have though. Rainbow Trout fishing was excellent as well but no really big ones were caught this week. Our guests also landed many Dolly Varden and although these fish don’t grow that big they are a lot of fun to catch on light tackle. By the way, they are probably one of the tastiest fish to eat! The first King Salmon went through the weir and we are expecting an excellent run. We will do the first “test-fishing” in a couple of days. The weather was pretty rough this week: It started nice on Monday but then we had 2 days with rain and mainly windy conditions for the rest of the week. But when the fishing is great, nobody really cares too much about the weather.
