2011— Week 31

The incredible fishing continued during this week with a total of 9 Lake Trout Trophies and 7 Pike Trophies being caught! This is truly unbelievable and we have never caught this many big Lake Trout. Usually the fishing for Lake Trout slows down in August but this year it is the opposite. We don’t know what is going on but we certainly enjoy the moment! We would like to welcome the following fishermen to our Lake Trout Trophy Club: Danilo Rosetti (110 cm), Valter Bolognesi (107 cm), Thierry Jadowsky (103 cm), Alex Le Sech (101 cm), Pierre Saimbault (102 cm), Tim Newhome (101 cm, 102 cm, 104 cm), Alby Saleman (106 cm). The following anglers also became members to the Pike Trophy Club: Danilo Rosetti (107 cm), Alex Le Sech (2 x 106 cm), Jean-Luc Saimbault (110 cm), Anne Saimbault (117 cm), Tim Newhome (107 cm), Alby Saleman (107 cm). Congratulations to everybody and well done! Again our apologies for not posting all the pictures with the Trophies – there are just too many… We had a great week fishing for King Salmon but the run is getting weaker and will be over soon. The water levels in the rivers are very low, some rivers are as low as usually in September. This is excellent for fly fishing and our guests enjoyed catching many Grayling and Rainbow Trout. The weather was giving us a hard time: It was a very windy week. Big low pressure systems hit the coast of Alaska and that was the reason for the windy conditions. We had one morning with rain and the other days were a mix of sun and clouds. All in all a very successful and busy fishing week!
