2011— Week 36

We experienced a great fishing week under difficult circumstances; the wind was giving us a hard time. Nevertheless, we are pleased to announce that there was one Pike Trophy and two Lake Trout Trophies being caught. Daniel and Bolko Zencominierski both caught a Lake Trout Trophy and Ernst Althaus a Pike Trophy of 107 cm. Congratulations to all of you and welcome to the Trophy Club! More and more Lake Trout have moved into the rivers which guaranteed non-stop action. Grayling fishing was world-class everywhere we have fished. Our guests landed several big ones up to 47.5 cm, just a tiny bit short of the Trophy mark of 48 cm. Fishing for Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden was fantastic as well. Towards the end of the week we finally were able to do two fly out trips to the coast of Alaska. The fishing for Silver Salmon was out of this world, everybody limited out before the plane has taken off from the river! If weather permits we certainly will do more trips, but this is of course not in our hands. The Sockeye Salmon run is still going on in our local rivers with a total of more than 18’000 through the weir. Our guests are still enjoying picking Boletus mushrooms. There are plenty of things our guests can do in this time of the year: Hunting small game, picking mushrooms and of course enjoy the world class fishing! Like the previous weeks we had very tough weather. Only one nice Indian Summer day and the rest of the week was cloudy with strong winds. Some days we had winds up to 70 km/h which made the fishing pretty tough. But this is the nice thing here, there are always places you can go and catch plenty of fish. Despite the conditions a wonderful fishing week!
