2012— Week 26

It We experienced another great fishing week with many nice fish being caught. Fishing for Lake Trout was excellent everywhere we went. Although we didn’t catch any Trophies our guests enjoyed catching many of these hard fighting fish. Pike fishing was great too with some close to the Trophy mark. The Grayling and Rainbow Trout were very active too and our clients caught plenty using either flies or smaller lures. Unfortunately we didn’t have many clients this week which is too bad as the fishing was really excellent. As it was slow in the guiding department we had time to explore some new fishing spots, working on trails etc. The weather was pretty unsettled, we mostly had a mix of sun and clouds but no rain. We certainly don’t need any more rain as all the water tables are very high and we still have lots of snow in the mountains. It was a rather windy week too and much colder than the previous week. The cooler temperatures helped to keep the forest fires down. There were like 40 active fires in the whole Yukon but nothing close to our area, so we are totally safe here.
