2017— Week 35

Fishing this week was great all around; our guests spent a lot of time out on the water catching the many different species of fish that we target. The weather was a bit cooler and we had quite a few days of light rain but still some sunny breaks all week. Two of our guest caught Trophies this week, Lothar, who caught a Lake Trout Trophy last week, caught at beautiful 48cm Grayling Trophy this week. His friend Thomas caught a huge 105cm Trophy Lake Trout! Well done and welcome to the Trophy Club. We did not send anyone out to the coast for Salmon fishing and we also didn’t do any local fishing so there is nothing to report there. Pike fishing is really starting to pick up in some of our remote lakes, our guests landed lots of big sized fish. Grayling fishing is still awesome with lots of action and some very close to the Trophy mark. Many of these were caught on the dry fly. The Rainbow Trout were also very active and our guests landed many over 50cm. On some of the chillier clear nights the Northern Lights, also known as the Aura Borealis, came out. When this happens the sky fills with swirling green and purple light. Also with the chilly nights we are starting to see the first signs of the leaves changing, in the next few weeks the mountains and hills will turn an amazing array of Orange and Red. Since we got some rain this week the Boletus Mushrooms came popping out of the ground in abundance. Our guests picked these mushroom to either eat them at the lodge or dry them out to bring home. It has been a great week and there will be more to come!
